Fish curry- Grandma's spicy dish


Fish pieces-cut,cleaned and dipped in salt water(few minutes)
Green Chilies- 2
Toamto-1
Chilli powder- 1 tablespoon(depends on your taste)
Corriander Powder-2 tablespoon(double of chilly powder)
Turmeric Powder- A pinch
Pepper Powder-1/2 tablespoon(half of chilly powder)
Garlic- three
Tamarind- two or to the taste you prefer
Curry leaves to season
Salt for taste

To be grinded:


Coconut- 1/2 and
Small onion-3
Cumin seeds-1 tablespoon

To saute:

Fenugreek seeds(for its cooling property)- 1 tablespoon
Coconut Oil-1 tablespoon( you can use some other oil too, but this adds more taste)

Procedure:
Take a mud vessel(if possible), drop the fish pieces.Add tamarind paste and then coconut mixture. Add all the spices and powders, garlic,tomato and chillies. Mix it with the fish pieces well. Dont add salt and curry leaves now. Pour necessary water and place it on the stove. Once it starts boiling add salt and curry leaves. You can feel the sweet aroma emanating from the dish. Let it boil for five more minutes.Check the taste of the dish. If you find anything missing add it. Once its ready and has come to the correct consistency, switch off the stove.
Now saute the fenugreek seeds or mustard seeds in coconut oil. Add it to the cooked curry and serve.
