Life

Removing the wrap, carefully
one by one, unraveling wonders
Curiosity leads us, to proceed further
unwrapping more treasurable gifts.
The ribbons cut reveals
the next gift behind the wrap,
yet another beautifully colored wrap
when will these onion peels end?
Alas, before questioning the Sender
end of life engulfs us.
As the curtain falls again
we disappear
without discovering what gift it was

An evening on the terrace

As the sun rests behind the clouds,
with a walking stick and a hot cup of tea
grandpa eases out his old age in an easy chair.

Grandpas eyeballs record random scenes
Cavalcade of white birds across the blue sky
A lonely parrot bidding goodbye to the sun
A coconut tree dances, startling the sleeping crow
A little sparrow sneaking into its tiny space
Flock of cranes travels past grandpas round spectacles

His eyes unconsciously stop at a frame,
A fully flowered sappota tree swaying like gigantic monster
Trying to embrace him kindly with profound love,
The emerald mango leaves blowout their warm breeze
Somebody hides behind, so fast to oldies timeworn eyes
He stares once more into the silence of the thick foliage
The dusky black bird with red eyes sneaks from behind
Aah! A shy Koel tilting its head to have a glimpse of grandpa

Grandpa smiles at its beautiful expression
While his grandson stares at the angry birds

That flies on his newly bought smart phone

Poverty

She knew not what a text book is
Carrying the bricks for the school wall
She awes what this big building is for
With cement and dust covering her skin
Her brown hairs shine in the twilight
Ignoring her dreams about life
She burns her childish desires in the sun
With the bread and butter
To satisfy her siblings’ hunger
She walks forward to her hut
Battling her pre designed life
The society that decides her life, just gazes

Two souls from same fire

Graceful, ever loving God
We are born to be together
As man and woman from the same fire
We long to be in eternal union
tender and soft hearted,we are selfless
Unaware who to be blamed for our grief
We offend ourselves, we live faraway
but our souls still clinging together
swings between sorrow and joy
You created us to be together, isn't it?
If it is, you will unite us together
Giving the strength to overcome
the Himalayan hurdles and herculean tasks
We are born to be together to dwell in love
To be righteous and to fill peoples void hearts
but not to linger in worries and feuds

You are not alone

The glass window opens every morning
She gazes across suns golden rays;
Trying to solve the mystical mystery,
She joins her hands for a humble prayer
Her trembling pink fingers handle the bow
Gracefully and excellently, the violin smiles
Splendid music fills the room, evading loneliness
Bored of this humdrum, the little sparrow hushed
Jumping on her tender lap, he chirped cheerfully
Distracting her loneliness, “I am here for you”
It was just her dream painting, she longs it to be real
