She knew not what a
text book is
Carrying the bricks
for the school wall
She awes what this
big building is for
With cement and dust
covering her skin
Her brown hairs shine
in the twilight
Ignoring her dreams
about life
She burns her
childish desires in the sun
With the bread and
butter
To satisfy her siblings’
hunger
She walks forward to
her hut
Battling her pre
designed life
The society that
decides her life, just gazes
The soul rejoices dreaming unheard future- Shalini Samuel
